5 Easy steps to becoming a home owner
Step 1:
Speak to one of our team and they will show you an exciting selection of affordable flats and start-up homes. They will also organise an appointment with our in-branch mortgage adviser.
Step 2:
Our mortgage advisers will talk you through all the finance options available to you. This stage should not worry you; there are currently some very competitive mortgage rates available, offered with low deposits required - in some cases as low as 5%. Speak to us early in the process and we will try our hardest to arrange the best deal for you.
Step 3:
With your financial arrangements in place, now the fun can really begin. Take your time and book as many viewings as you can. Our staff will advise you on the best buys, in terms of value for money, location and high or low maintenance (depending on your DIY skills).
Step 4:
Once you have found your perfect property, your personal Sales Progressor will help coordinate all your legal matters. Between your solicitors and the seller’s, the necessary paper work will be drafted ready for the ‘exchange of contract’. When the contracts are exchanged it is normal for the buyer to pay a deposit (normally 10% of the asking price). From this point you are legally obliged to purchase the property and are almost there!
Step 5:
On the day of completion, all outstanding monies (usually 90%) are transferred from your solicitor to the seller's solicitor. Once the money has been deposited into the seller’s account the estate agent will release the keys for your collection.
You are now the legal owner of your new home. Congratulations, you are now officially a home owner and can move in whenever you wish.
