Demand Still Strong

Demand for family homes still strong

Despite media stories highlighting an easing in property prices and numbers of house sales, the demand for keenly priced local homes is still strong according to a leading local estate agent who claims to be selling out of now highly saleable homes on his books.

Vince Hedges the senior partner of Robinson Jackson at North Heath Erith can’t get enough houses on his books to meet the growing level of demand from eager buyers anxious to take advantage of the slower market.

From his prominent and successful office in North Heath Vince commented "Every day we deal with a growing number of enquiries from genuine and capable buyers who see the recent reduction in prices as a rare buying opportunity. Prices have indeed come down a bit and mortgages for those with no deposit can be hard to get but for the vast majority of second and third time buyers with some equity now is certainly a good time to trade up. Agreed you may be selling for less than in the heady days of a few years ago but to counter this you will pay much less for the bigger property you now need and you should be able to get a low rate on fixed mortgage

"I know a lot of local residents, who’s families have really outgrown their homes, are sitting on their hands waiting for the market to improve before trading up. But if your job is reasonably secure and you bought more than a few years ago you should have enough equity to enable you to get one of the cheaper mortgages which are still available for suitable buyers and find a better quality home at a much lower price than you think. Contact me or your local branch for a free valuation and a chat with one of our independent mortgage advisers to see if you can move now rather than later when it will almost certainly cost you more".

Vince concluded "Despite the credit crunch and financial doom and gloom life goes on and families still need a suitable roof over their heads whatever the market"
