A Mortgage Advisor Writes
Bexleyheath mortgage advisor Giles Harry who has 20 years experience of residential mortgages gives his feelings on the current mortgage situation.
"For mortgages this year has started better than expected with most mortgage rates following the downward trend of base rate to record low
levels. The important LIBOR rate has also reduced which in turn should reduce the rates on popular fixed rate mortgages, the best rates of which
are currently around 2% above base rate."
He added "January has been a busy month for us with large numbers of clients consulting me before they go out looking for a new home and I am
relieved to find enquiries to us are returning to the levels of last year.
"Buyers in Bexleyheath have both a wide choice of properties now keenly priced at up top 20% below last years levels and mortgages are at last
becoming amore freely available to suitable candidates with a good deposit. The reduction in interest rates has already eased the criteria for
lending enabling many vendors selling albeit at a lower price but also buying at a lower price properties that were previously unattainable."
"Put yourself in an informed position" advised Giles "by getting an up to date valuation on your property and also consult an independent mortgage
advisor most of whom, like myself, will give a free initial consultation you may be pleasantly surprised at what you hear."
