Home movers press on with plans

An increasing choice of homes for sale and fantastic mortgage availability allows home movers to shrug off political distractions.

Despite two major political events in the last few weeks - the trigger of Article 50 and a hung parliament following a snap General Election - buyers, sellers and investors remain motivated to press on with their plans.

In fact, a recent survey showed that most people's decision to buy and sell property has not been affected by BREXIT - with only 1.7% of buyers and 2.7% of sellers saying the decision to leave the EU has put them off moving. These survey findings follow a telling comment from one leading property industry figure, who actually noted confidence in the property market increased in the run up to the General Election.

While survey figures and anecdotal comments tell one story, it is what's happening in your community that really matters. "Since BREXIT and the General Election there has been an upturn in people asking us if the current political landscape will have a knock-on effect in property," says Andy Plaistowe, Gravesend's Branch Manager. "It's great to be the consumers' 'port-of-call' for trusted advice and we're delighted to say that our observation is of a robust property market," adds Andy. "If you'd like to know the trends for your neighbourhood in more depth, call your local branch."

We do know that Branch Managers across The Robinson Jackson Group are reporting an excellent choice of homes for sale this summer - with far more homes available now than at the end of 2016, which is giving our customers the breadth of choice not seen for a while. There's an excellent stock of all property styles, ranging from studios, conversion apartments and first-time buyer homes to large family houses, bungalows and properties suitable for investment. Not only is the variety and price of properties on our books very tempting, our in-house mortgage advisors are surprising borrowers with an amazing choice of home loans, with monthly repayments cheaper than they ever imagined.

The forthcoming summer months present a very good opportunity to put your house on the market and start looking for a new home. "It's clear that the political backdrop is not denting activity and we always find the months of July and August a time when the most serious buyers and sellers work with us", adds Andy. "You could say there are less time wasters, leaving a group of focused home movers intent on making genuine offers and concluding purchases before autumn. Now is the time for discerning agents like us to pull out all the stops for our customers. And because we can take care of everything associated with your sale, purchase and mortgage in tandem, we save you time - allowing you to enjoy any summer sunshine."
