Flying start for tenants' online reporting system

The Robinson Jackson Group has successfully trialled a new online maintenance reporting service for tenants who have a problem with their rental property.

The simple online system is easily understood, requires no more than a few clicks of a mouse or taps of a screen, and is accessible from any device, including a desktop, laptop, tablet or smartphone, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The service - which is available in selected geographical areas for the time being - involves a picture-based process that's easy to follow, and narrows down the problem quickly and specifically for a timely response from us. There's even the ability to select from 40 different languages for the ultimate in usability.


How to report a problem

Visit our online repair page from any device and see if you fall in our trial area. If you do, follow these simple steps:

Step 1 Choose a maintenance problem from 21 pre-set options. There's also an 'other' option, should the problem not be listed. Once the problem area has been identified, specify the issue and type in additional notes. For instance, a sequence for narrowing down an issue might be bathroom > bath > tap. The whole process is managed by simply clicking a mouse or tapping the screen

Step 2 Add any photographs of the problem. This will help qualify whether the issue is an emergency, the best course of action, what trade may need to be called and what parts might be required to make the repair

Step 3 Fill in your address details

Step 5 Submit your report

"We want to fix faults as quickly as possible for our tenants, and online reporting allows people to specify the exact problem and instantly send us the report. We're excited that our initial trial has received positive feedback from our tenants," comments our lettings specialist, Debbie Pennell. "We're still here at the end of the telephone, in branch or an email away should tenants prefer traditional methods of communication but our online repair reporting service is available on a 24-7 basis and can be accessed anywhere from any device with an internet connection."
