NIKKI EKE

Promoted to Senior Lettings Consultant

What did you do before joining the Group?

My first job was in the retail sector but this was always just something to do that would fit around university. I then moved on to become a sales representative. This role involved a lot of driving and had no movement for progression. I made the decision to look for something that was still target driven but with more of a career path and team atmosphere.

Have you got any local connections to your branch/area?

I live locally to the Medway office and have always had family in the area.

What attracted you to estate agency?

I took the job with Robinson Michael & Jackson as the company demonstrated a good team ethic and I had always loved property – I used to drive around with my Nan looking at houses! I also wanted something that would give me a clear and long career path – plus the commission incentive was an added bonus!

How have you been mentored or supported in your career?

There has always been support available to me, from my Lettings Manager to the Lettings Director - no one has ever been too busy to show or teach me something. Group training sessions and meetings are always a regular occurrence, which is when we share ideas, tips and celebrate success.

What are your ambitions for the future?

I want to continue to beat my targets and improve my personal best, month-on-month. I would like to stay within the company, progress my career to become a Lettings Manager, and continue to contribute to the growing success of our lettings department.

What do you like most about working at the Group?

There is a very strong team atmosphere in the office and coming to work is not a chore - the morale is always positive and pleasant. There are always inter-office competitions and also competitions among all the lettings offices and staff, which are very motivating. I personally like to win when there’s a bottle or two on offer!

Any advice for those considering a career in estate agency?

It can be very fast paced but we are like a family and it is a very rewarding role. There is always a lot of praise and support to help support us.
