Ella Smith
Promoted to Senior Lettings Negotiator at Gravesend
What did you do before joining us? I worked as an events manager for weddings.
What attracted you to estate agency? It’s a very personal role, which I like. I am good in fast-paced environments and felt that in estate agency, I could incorporate my previous job, but with a more consistent team and a better work-life balance.
What type of mentoring or support have you received during your time with us, and what advice has been a great help? I've had great mentoring and learnt from the best. Ellie Eccleston and Hollie Spinks taught me when I first joined. They taught me to take it one step at a time and that all the pieces would fall together. We started as the three musketeers, and watching our office grow into what it is now makes me really proud to have been a part of it! The best advice I got was to be more confident and ask more questions, even if it sounded silly, because mistakes are what we learn from to make us better.
What are your ambitions for the future? For our office to keep growing. To be the branch of the year again in Lettings, and to keep constantly learning as much as I can.
What do you like most about working here? The people I work with. The dynamic of my team and how much we all support each other's successes and are always there to guide each other.
Any advice to those considering a career in estate agency? Just do it! Everything’s an experience, and you never know until you try something. When I first started, I didn’t know how much I would enjoy my job, and it’s a job where no two days are the same, but one you can happily do every day.
WILDCARD - What did you want to be when you were 10 years old? I wanted to be an ambulance driver.
