30th Sunshine Coach presented to local school

We are proud to continue our association with the Variety Club Golf Society and this summer saw the presentation of three Sunshine Coaches. The first was donated by three long-term clients of the Robinson Jackson Group to their local school, Oak Tree in Hertfordshire. Donated by the Robinson family, the second coach was given to Cage Green Primary School in Tonbridge. Marlborough School in Sidcup benefitted from the third coach, sponsored by the Partners & staff of the Robinson Jackson Group, who raised the money in memory of Ron Kennor, our General Manager, who died suddenly earlier his year. Fittingly, the third coach was presented by Vince Hedges, our longest standing partner. This year's presentation takes us to over 30 coaches in 25 years - donated to schools where the students are physically or mentally disabled.

Jill Page, the TA Manager at Marlborough School, spoke of what it means for her school to receive the keys to a new Sunshine Coach:

"The new mini bus will enable students with complex needs, including some who exhibit highly anxious and challenging behaviour and therefore need a high ratio of staffing, to access the wider community safely. The students will be able to attend more outings, events and community learning activities; visiting shops, parks, the local leisure centre and our allotment, all of which promote communication, functional and independence skills. This mini bus also makes it possible for two classes to be able to go off site together providing further opportunities for social integration and inclusion."

Alan Robinson says the annual coach presentation has become one of his personal highlights of the year: "It has been a privilege to be involved with the Variety Club and to support their amazing work for young people. My family and colleagues have done a fantastic job by raising enough money to buy over 30 coaches over 3 decades and we are understandably proud of that achievement."
