Robinson Michael & Jackson raise almost £9,000 for Macmillan Cancer Suppot
Robinson Michael & Jackson has raised almost £9,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support by bringing over 500 members of the local community together for a charity cycle ride and family fun day on Sunday 14th June.
The ride was once again led by Michael Utchanah, Senior Partner, and Simon Woodcock, Managing Director, who rallied the cyclists outside the agent's Gravesend office before they set off on the 30 mile route, with the finishing line set up in Maidstone's Mote Park. An amazing 27 riders took part, with the youngest just 11 years old, and Mayor of Maidstone Cllr Daniel Moriarty was on hand at the finish line to congratulate the riders.
The family fun day was a new addition for 2015 and raised more than £1,000 of additional funds for the charity. A Macmillan Cancer Support team were on hand during the fun day, raising their profile from a dedicated Macmillan stall, while a bouncy castle, a carousel, a stocks n' sponge stand, a coconut shy, garden games, face painting, cupcakes, sweets, a Shikon martial arts display and other stalls entertained families.
Michael Utchanah said about the event: "Last year's cycle was such a success that it was beyond doubt that we would ride again in 2015. Our added fun day gave us an extra chance to raise even more funds for a good cause. This year's charity - Macmillan Cancer Support - is an organisation everyone can identify with as cancer affects so many people. It's great to raise money for a fantastic charity like Macmillan - the fact we had fun along the way was a bonus!"
