Market picks up pace heading into autumn

The latest reports from the leading property portal and the industry's professional body show there was no seasonal summer slowdown in the property market this year. This reflects the latest figures from the Robinson Jackson Group.

The National Association of Estate Agents has revealed the number of house hunters registered per estate agency branch is at an 11 year high - increasing 5% in July. Rightmove has also claimed that this August was the strongest on record since the credit crunch, with the smallest seasonal adjustment in house prices since 2007.

"It's a trend we started noticing last summer," comments Joe Purton, the Branch Manager at Robinson Jackson's Swanscombe branch. "The number of buyers registering their interest with us and the volume of sales in the market remained strong. For me, it spells the end of the seasonal dip. In fact, 12,445 buyers registered with us across July and August - up 33% on last year. We are asking homeowners that have held off selling across the summer holidays to consider taking advantage of the market in September. Virtually every one of our branches sells more than double or even triple the number of homes the average estate agency sells*, giving vendors confidence that their property will sell. As the market gathers pace, it means we have some great properties for buyers to consider. Please speak to your local branch for more information.”

If you would like to find out about the new properties coming onto the market, it is best to register your details with one of our branches. Joe continues, “If the sale of your existing home is dependent on you finding somewhere to buy, we can inform you when your perfect property comes to the market. We can often let you know before the property is released to Rightmove and other websites, so it’s well worth registering.”

*The average estate agency branch sells nine properties per month, according to NAEA's July Housing Market Report
