CAN YOU SMELL GAS?
A gas leak is a health and safety risk. Colourless and silent, we rely on our sense of smell to detect a problem. It smells like rotten cabbages! Here’s what to do if you smell gas.
If you Smell Gas, Act Immediately. If you smell gas, think you have a gas leak or are worried that fumes containing carbon monoxide are escaping from a gas appliance, please call the free Gas Emergency Services emergency line immediately on 0800 111 999. Also open all doors and windows to ventilate the property. Do not use a naked flame or any gas appliance until a registered gas engineer has said it is safe to do so.
